- Under the direction and supervision of the registered professional; provides personal care to patients, including, but not limited to measuring and recording the patient’s weight, blood pressure and pulse, making sure that the x-rays are ordered, preparing the patient for the visit with the doctor, as well as making sure that the charts are complete and all the pertinent information is in the chart for the doctor at the time of the appointment.
- Schedule surgeries and diagnostic tests as directed by the doctor and make sure that the paperwork is filled out and given to the financial specialist in a timely manner for the precertification to be completed.
- Graduate of an accredited LVN school of nursing or Accredited Medical Assistant Program graduate preferred
- Licensed Vocational Nurse licensed with the Board of Nursing for the State of Texas or Certification as Medical Assistant (CMA) preferred or have at minimum 2 years’ clinic experience
- Some exposure to communicable disease or bodily fluids.
