- This 40-bed unit treats patients with Brain & Spinal Cord tumors, Strokes, hemorrhagic and ischemic infarcts, SAH, Anoxic or hypoxic brain injury, Parkinson’s Disease, Cerebral Palsy, Multiple Sclerosis, and disorders of the central nervous system, GBS (Group B Streptococcus), Tracheostomies etc.
- Some unique opportunities include CRRN certification, collaboration with the interdisciplinary team (MD, PT, OT, SLP, Case Management etc.)
- The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is a key member of the interdisciplinary team to deliver patient-centered rehabilitation nursing services to individuals with a disability and/or chronic illness to attain and maintain maximum function.
- The rehabilitation LPN designs and implements treatment strategies based on scientific nursing theory related to self-care and promotes physical, psychosocial, and spiritual health.
