- The Department of Modern Languages (MODL) at The University of Texas at Arlington (UT Arlington) invites applications for a Lecturer in ASL, non-tenure-track position, beginning August 2024.
- Responsibilities include teaching all levels of American Sign Language and/or Deaf Studies theory.
- Requirements include a minimum of an M.A. or M.S. in Deaf Studies and/or ASL linguistics, Deaf Studies, Deaf Education and/or language pedagogy, or a related field; native or near-native proficiency in ASL and English.
- The Department’s languages of instruction include not only Spanish, French, and German, but also the less-commonly taught, critical languages of Arabic, Chinese, Korean, and Russian.
- Alongside our BA degrees in French Global Studies, Spanish for Global Competence, and Spanish Translation and Interpreting, we have developed a BA in Critical Languages and International Studies (Chinese, German, Korean, Russian), as well as a BA in Modern Languages-Localization and Translation studies and multiple other degree opportunities.
