- Position Number: 113050 Position Title (Classification Title): Law Enforcement Officer 113050 Working Title: Law Enforcement Officer Job Summary: The Law Enforcement Officer carries out campus law enforcement and security/safety functions involved in the protection of life and property, preservation of the peace, prevention of crime, and rendering of services to the University community.
- Work in this position is performed under the supervision of a Law Enforcement Corporal and Sergeant.
- Department University Police FLSA: Non-Exempt Minimum Qualifications: Must meet the requirements of Chapter 943 Florida Statutes and have one year of law enforcement experience.
- Two years of military or other appropriate experience may substitute for the required one year of law enforcement experience.
- 15% - Conducts investigations into violations of federal, state, and local laws; secures and conducts preliminary investigations at crime scenes; collects, identifies, and preserves evidence; makes official reports of complaints and all criminal and non-criminal miscellaneous incidents that he/she investigates on university property; assists in crowd, mob and riot control activities; coordinates law enforcement activities and other agencies as required.
