- Essential Job Duties: Primary Duties of the LAR Veterinary Technician include, but are not limited to the following: Anesthetizing a variety of patients, including small companion animals, equine and farm animals, birds, and exotics.
- Performing various technical procedures including post-operative support and monitoring, Intravenous catheter placement for both short- and long-term vein access, venipuncture, IV injections, drug administration (IV, Oral, Subcutaneous), blood transfusion administration, emergency intervention, ECG monitoring, blood pressure monitoring, CPR, epidurals, and nerve blocks.
- Providing excellent patient care by applying full knowledge of anatomy, physiology, disease processes, pharmacology, specialized equipment usage, and specialized drug administration.
