Responsibilities: Job Summary A Lactation Consultant in this institution will help breastfeeding mothers in the inpatient and outpatient settings. The Lactation Consultant will also educate the mother and staff regarding updated lactation practices. The Lactation Consultant will maintain competency and application of the scientific knowledge necessary to meet patient needs. The Lactation Consultant demonstrates, through organizational skills, the ability to provide ease in flow of work. The Lactation Consultant is knowledgeable and supportive of the hospital, department, and nursing unit philosophies. The areas of focus: <ul> <li>Mother Baby </li><li>Neonatal ICU </li><li>Antenatal Education </li><li>Outpatient Services </li></ul> Qualifications: Required Qualifications <ul> <li>Active Kentucky registered nurse license or compact license with privileges to work in Kentucky </li><li>Associate degree in nursing from an accredited college or university </li><li>Basic Life Support (BLS) accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) </li><li>Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) </li><li>Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) </li><li> Minimum of 3 years of patient care experience in the OB nursery complex.
