Description Lactation Educator RN in our Postpartum unit at Providence Mission Regional Medical Center in Mission Viejo, CA. This is a part-time position that will work 8-hour Day shifts and rotating weekends. Independently receives nursing/physician lactation consultation orders in the inpatient setting and provides consults in the outpatient setting for discharged patients. Uses information from a variety of sources to assess, plan, implement, identify outcomes, and evaluate patient's plan of care. Develops treatment plan based on individualized patient needs. Provides evidence-based breastfeeding to new mothers. Provides training and updates for Women and Infant staff and physicians. Providence caregivers are not simply valued – they’re invaluable. Required Qualifications <ul><li>California Registered Nurse License upon hire</li><li>National Provider BLS - American Heart Association upon hire</li><li>IBCLC certification upon hire (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant)</li><li>2 years of Experience as a Lactation Consultant in the inpatient and outpatient setting.</li><li>Experience in developing and implementing new programs and services.</li><li>Experience in facilitating support groups and teaching.</li><li>Computer experience. </li></ul>Preferred Qualifications <ul><li>Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing</li><li>Master’s Degree in Nursing</li><li>1 year of Experience in leadership.</li><li>Experience in working with postpartum depression. </li></ul>Why Join Providence?
