- Responsibilities include teaching chemical and physical methods of forensic chemistry (criminalistics) and analytical/instrumental analysis with emphasis on trace evidence such as illicit drugs and DNA. The successful candidate will also transition into the role of forensic program coordinator, which includes maintaining accreditation with the Forensic Science Education Programs Accreditation Commission (FEPAC) and overseeing the forensic internship program.
- Additional duties include advising forensic students, participating in recruiting activities, and being a faculty mentor for Delta Delta Epsilon, an international forensic science honor society.
- Applicants must hold a Ph. D. or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Forensic Science, or closely related field and have demonstrated forensic laboratory (practitioner) experience with professional certification preferred.
- The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry is a broad-based department that consists of 17 tenured and tenure-track faculty, 6 teaching faculty, and a vibrant undergraduate and graduate program ().
