- Independently interprets and impartially applies pertinent codes and regulations acting as a code enforcement officer.
- Protects and improves the health, safety, welfare, and qualify of life of Manatee County by independently investigating and documenting alleged code violations for which the division has enforcement responsibilities acting as a code enforcement officer.
- Attends hearings and appears in court, as required, acting as a code enforcement officer.
- Standard License in one discipline (Building, Mechanical, Plumbing, Electrical) issued by the Florida Building Code Administrators and Inspectors Board (BCAIB) as an Inspector or Plans Examiner required.
- Currently holds a standard certificate issued by the board or a fire safety inspector license issued pursuant to Chapter 633, F.S., with a minimum of three (3) years of verifiable experience in fire safety inspection or fire safety plan review, and satisfactorily completes a building code inspector or plans examiner cross-training program that provides at least 100 hours but not more than two hundred (200) hours of cross training in the certification category sought.
