As a bridge/structural engineer in our Chicago, IL Office you will be working on various projects and providing technical input on various stages of the design process. Mott MacDonald’s infrastructure teams work on some of the largest and complex projects across the country that is supported by national and international bridge engineering expertise. As a bridge/structural engineer, you will be involved with bridge projects for highway, rail, and transit infrastructure. You’ll be undertaking various duties and actively participating in:
Bridge design and development from preliminary design through detailed design plans and specifications
Field investigations, inspections, and report preparation
Load Ratings
Type and feasibility studies
Preparation of quantities and cost estimating
Construction monitoring
Interacting with team members and assisting in the coordination of work among engineers and detailers
We invite applications from candidates with the following experience:
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, or equivalent
Certification as a registered Illinois Structural Engineer (SE)
10+ years' experience working on the structural design of bridge projects
Familiarity with Microstation, Open Bridge and other design software such as LARSA, SAP 2000, and STAAD
