- The purpose of this job is to perform skilled, semi-skilled, and manual tasks associated with routine/preventive maintenance of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems and associated equipment in the Hamilton County Department of Education (HCDE) school buildings and related facilities.
- Performs heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system and refrigeration system installation, repair, and maintenance work for school buildings and related facilities; coordinates projects with other trade/craft employees or outside contractors as required.
- Installs, repairs, and maintains a variety of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems, equipment, and related components, which may include air conditioners, window air conditioning units, cooling towers, chillers, low pressure centrifugal chillers, air handlers, boilers, gas burners, heat exchangers, water heaters, electrical heaters, ice machines, pneumatic equipment, pumps, exhaust fans/vents, or related equipment.
- Performs various general/manual work tasks associated with department projects, which may include calculating heating and cooling loads, calculating electrical loads, moving equipment/furniture, climbing ladders, digging holes/trenches, or lifting/moving heavy materials.
- Operates a variety of machinery, equipment, and tools associated with department projects, which may include a utility vehicle, lift, air compressor, generator, vacuum pump, pressure washer, reciprocating saw, circular saw, saber saw, drill, grinder, leak detector, refrigerant recovery machine, torch, pipe cutter, plumbing tools, mechanic tools, carpentry tools, scaffolding, ladder, gauges, meters, diagnostic instruments, or two-way radio.
