- Must have and maintain a current valid certification of the following throughout employment: Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) from the American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from the American Heart Association, if none obtain within six (6) months of hire Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC), required within in six (6) months of hire
- Must have three (3) years of current and continuous acute care experience with (two) 2 years in a critical care specialty area, i.e. ICU, ED. and demonstrate progressive leadership experience, such as Lead Clinical Nurse or Unit Manager
- The incumbent exercises appropriate judgment to determine the nature of patient care and other services to be provided utilizing own initiative and instructions by the Lead House Supervisor and the CNO. Must have ability to cope with high levels of stress, make decisions under high pressure, manage altercations, concentrate, handle a high degree of flexibility, handle multiple priorities in stressful situation, work alone, demonstrate high degree of patience, and frequently adapt to shift work.
- Serves as the onsite Hospital Administrator in the Absence of the Chief Nursing Officer and as Hospital Chief Executive Officer after hours and on weekends.
- Collaborates with the Hospital Administrator to make decisions to close units to admissions based on acuity and staffing.
