- Employee assists the Head Start Teacher in planning and implementing daily program including schedules, routines, and lesson plans for the total development of a group of pre-school age children.
- Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent; PLUS certification as a Child Development Associate (CDA).
- Possession of an Associate's degree or higher degree from an accredited college in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or in an equivalent education major in which the primary focus of study is the care and development of preschool children (i.e., children 3 to 5 years-of-age).
- NOTE: Coursework relating to ECE may include courses offered in various departments (e.g., Education, Music, Art, Library Sciences, Physical Education and Recreation, Psychology
- however, this coursework must address early childhood education or child development with a focus on children ages 3 to 5 years.
