- Cook Inlet Aquaculture Association (CIAA) has an opening for a Hatchery Operations Manager, based at CIAA’s Headquarters in Kenai, Alaska.
- The Hatchery Operations Manager provides oversight for CIAA’s hatchery programs and personnel, which includes Trail Lakes Hatchery, Tutka Bay Lagoon Hatchery, Port Graham Hatchery, and Eklutna Salmon Hatchery.
- Currently Trail Lakes Hatchery and Tutka Bay Lagoon Hatchery are operating while fish enhancement activities are suspended at the other two hatcheries.
- Under the supervision of the Executive Director, the Hatchery Operations Manager, by applying sound management, science and technology, performs and directs various ongoing tasks in a safe, professional and cost effective manner in support of CIAA’s hatchery programs.
- Reviews and remains current on hatchery operations, procedures, and projects; makes recommendations, and provides guidance to the Executive Director and directs Hatchery Managers on all aspects of CIAA hatchery activities including fish culture, pathology, genetics, safety, permitting, personnel, and facility maintenance.
