- DESCRIPTION The GIS Technician will be responsible for spatial data collection, analysis, and formatting; map production; database updates; and feature extraction under the supervision of a project manager.
- Provide maps and data sets using GIS software and related equipment to clients to supplement analysis.
- Gather, analyze and integrate spatial data and determine the best way to generate and display information using GIS. Compile geographic data from a variety of sources including censuses, field observation, satellite imagery, aerial photographs, and existing maps.
- May involve language reviews of documents for proofreading documentation for proper spelling, grammar, and continuity.
- Support floodplain studies, urban design projects, master plans, and revitalization projects of varying sizes and complexities in diverse communities.
