This position requires you to perform mechanical repairs ensuring that equipment is running to its full performance, providing our customer with effective and efficient performing equipment. Recent graduates from technical schools with education in automotive and/or diesel repair are strongly encouraged to apply. Essential Duties And Responsibilities <ul><li> Repair, diagnose, inspect, and maintain all material handling equipment for customer work orders assigned to you. </li><li> Accepts repair orders as assigned by Service Writer. </li><li>Communicate with customer(s) on diagnosed repairs suggested or required for repair and obtains customer approvals. </li><li>Reads work orders, observes and listens to truck in operation to determine/diagnose malfunction or problem(s). </li><li>Offers solutions to meet customer specifications. </li><li>Provides estimates when appropriate. </li><li>Repair, service, recondition or assemble equipment as approved by the customer/Service Manager. </li><li>Obtains necessary parts working cooperatively with Parts department staff. </li><li>Makes mechanical repairs to equipment after a complete inspection and analysis of breakdown has been completed. </li><li>Records complete repair description on work order, including correct model and serial number of equipment and records hour meter reading. </li><li>Obtains signature from customer and communicates with them on repair needs or work that was completed. </li><li>Examines protective guards, loose bolts, specified safety devices on truck and makes adjustments. </li><li>Lubricates moving parts and drives repaired truck to verify conformance to specifications. </li><li>Always maintains professional image of self, cleanliness of van (externally and internally) and of assigned work area at customer site. </li><li>Maintains and operates shop equipment and tools. </li><li>Notifies Service Manager or Supervisor of safety issues and/or accidents immediately. </li><li>Performs quality work as quickly and professional as possible. </li><li>Promotes marketing efforts to drive parts, service, equipment and rental sales. </li><li> Completes service forms and submit directly to Service department daily via work tablet.</li><li> Adapt and act out the company’s core value – Safety Always – At All Times, In All Places.</li><li> Willingness to accept new duties and responsibilities as assigned by direct manager. </li></ul>Required Skills And Abilities <ul><li> Must have a valid driver’s license and good driving record; CDL may be required.</li><li>Experience in forklift repair is desired, intermediate maintenance experience is required.</li><li>Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety manual, operating maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. </li><li> Ability to speak effectively with customers or employees of an organization. </li><li> Ability to work under little or no supervision.</li><li>Must be able to provide own tools for the job immediately; annual tool incentive is given. </li></ul>Education And Experience <ul><li>High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED). </li><li>3+ years of mechanic experience and/or education relating to the position. </li><li>Basic knowledge of computer and internet software. </li></ul>Employee Benefits Include <ul><li>Full benefits package, including Medical, Dental and Vision insurance.</li><li>Uniforms are provided and laundered by company.</li><li>Annual Tool Incentive.</li><li>Company paid Rx Safety Glasses.</li><li>Company owned/leased vehicle, if required for position.</li><li>Paid Training.</li><li>Generous Paid Time Off.</li><li>Paid Holidays.</li><li>401(k) retirement plan and Employer Match.</li><li>Wellness Program that offers the opportunity to earn a medical insurance discount.</li><li>Company Paid Short- Term and Long-Term Disability. </li></ul>PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
