- Specifically, it evaluates the effectiveness of all maintenance activities by examining road calls and other defects, work orders, preventative maintenance (PM), predictive maintenance, repairs, and campaigns performed by contractors or manufacturers on the fleet.
- Ensures the operations fleet (buses/coaches) are safely maintained and in compliance with manufacturer guidelines, FTA and DOT regulations, Transit Asset Management Plan, and Fleet Maintenance Program requirements.
- Performs field safety inspections at the operating facilities on all revenue and non-revenue vehicles, including safety-sensitive facility equipment such as vehicle lifts, doors, alarms, fire suppression systems, fuel spill kits, etc., as requested.
- Reviews record keeping and uses an Asset Management database to compile and/or analyze all maintenance work orders, labor costs, equipment replacement, fuel usage, oil analysis, campaigns, warranty repairs, and other maintenance-related data.
- Provides support in the evaluation of contract maintenance providers, periodic inspection, analysis, and on-site inspection of equipment, processes, and procedures in verifying system reliability and the identification of opportunities for process improvement.
