- Performs a variety of complex maintenance and/or specialized repair tasks on marine boats/vessels, marine fire suppression systems and life safety marine related equipment.
- Performs major repairs to fire pumps, and fire fighting foam systems to include removal and replacement of foam pumps and flow meters.
- Diagnosis, calibrate and test firefighting foam systems.
- This is to include but not limited to the following, engine rooms and compartments, pump and foam system rooms, Operators station/bridge and work/storage areas.
- fabricates specialized equipment; operates machine shop equipment (e.g., lathe, drill press, table saw, band saw), and cutting torches and welders (oxygen, acetylene, and electric); fits and installs hydraulic and pneumatic valves, compressors and pipes to facilitate installation or repairs.
