- Leidos has an opening for a Fire Protection Engineer at NASA Glenn Research Center in Cleveland, Ohio. The primary functions for the Fire Protection Engineer are to provide support to the Facilities Infrastructure Division for Fire Protection and Life Safety.
- The ideal candidate is a Professional Engineer (PE) who has passed the fire protection engineering written examination administered by the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES).
- The Fire Protection Engineer is responsible for performing plan reviews in adherence with applicable model codes, state building and fire codes, and internal policies.
- The Fire Protection Engineer will apply knowledge of fire and life safety risk during research operations and will serve as Safety and Health Officer or Facility Liaison roles during emergency responses.
- Provide in-house design support and guidance to Facilities Engineering for: life safety & means of egress systems, fire control & suppression systems, fire detection & alarm systems, building tenability systems, building fire resistance, electrical systems, lightning protection systems, gas detection systems and other building systems and facility infrastructure relating to fire hazards in the workplace.
