- Manages the day-to-day finance operations and reporting of the Department of Anesthesiology, Critical Care and Pain Medicine ensuring alignment of the objectives of UT Health / McGovern School of Medicine and the department.
- Participates in the preparation of short-term and long-range plans and budgets based on overall goals and growth objectives; creates in depth net revenue and expense models; analyzes data and creates metrics to develop the Anesthesia, Critical Care and Pain Medicine budget.
- Oversees the Revenue Cycle, to include a monthly review of clinical activity (e.g., charges, collections, accounts receivable, denials, controllable/uncontrollable losses, and payer mix); participates in monthly revenue cycle meetings; prepares department forecasts and estimates of clinical revenue for budget and clinical reporting.
- Supervises staff activities for procurement, use of funds for Continuing Medical Education (CME), Call Lump Sum (CLS) payments, and similar financial transactions.
- The most comprehensive academic health center in the UT System and the U.S. Gulf Coast region, UTHealth Houston is home to schools of biomedical informatics, biomedical sciences, dentistry, nursing and public health and the John P. and Kathrine G. McGovern Medical School.
