- Drilling will occur within large creek floodplain approximately 7 miles long; terrain may be variable.
- We are seeking field geologist/hydrogeologist who can perform this 6-month field project, and then subsequently support other field projects and desk-top technical review projects.
- Conduct field oversight of PRP contractors performing remedial investigation of contamination at mining area, ensuring compliance with all approved work plans, laws, regulations, and policy and guidance documents; technical issues include complex hydrogeology, surface water hydrology, geology, soils, chemical contaminant fate and transport, chemistry, geochemistry.
- Oversee contractor's drilling, coring, sediment sampling operations, downhole geophysical logging, monitoring well installation, groundwater sampling, and aquifer testing, ensuring compliance with EPapproved drilling program.
- Visually observe and photograph cores and drill cuttings, specifically documenting key hydrogeologic features, including depth to base of alluvium, top of bedrock formations, saturation, and fractures, faults, and their orientations; also observe field geologist's selection of discrete core and sediment samples to ensure sampling is consistent with targeted intervals specified in Work Plan.
