- DESCRIPTIONThe Single Cell Opioid Responses in the Context of HIV (SCORCH) Center at the University of California, San Diego, is an NIH funded multidisplinary center to generate cellular part list for human and non-human primates brain regions and will illuminate novel insights into transcriptomic and epigenetic landscapes of CNS and how they are altered by HIV and opioid use.
- The Executive Director will be responsible for the overall planning, function, and long-term support of SCORCH. Key responsibilities involve interacting with UC San Diego faculty and other national collaborators on the research projects, management of Center staff and functions, reporting to UC San Diego faculty leadership and advisory boards; establishing the Center business model and leading outreach and fundraising efforts.
- Works under direction of Principal Investigator to establish center agenda, funding, objectives.
- Proven capacity to identify sources of support for such research infrastructure resources through either state, federal, public or private sector grants and fundraising.
- Possess cutting-edge knowledge in a broad range of molecular biology and metabolomics topics.
