Role Summary The Summer Discovery School Director of Enrichment will oversee the school's summer school enrichment programming. They are responsible for the equity and quality of experience that students receive through the summer program. If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you as the Summer Discovery School Director of Enrichment for University Prep Schools! As the Director of Enrichment, you will have the unique opportunity to design and implement a diverse range of engaging and enriching programs that complement our academic curriculum and prepare students for success at the university level. You will lead a team of talented educators and specialists to create a dynamic and inspiring summer experience for our students. Duties/Responsibilities <ul><li>Develop and oversee a robust enrichment program that includes a variety of activities such as arts, music, sports, technology, and more.</li><li>Collaborate with educators and experts to design innovative and engaging enrichment experiences that align with our university preparatory goals.</li><li>Provide leadership and support to staff members to ensure the successful implementation of enrichment programs.</li><li>Foster a culture of creativity, exploration, and personal growth among students through a wide range of enrichment opportunities.</li><li>Collaborate with other departments to integrate enrichment activities into the overall educational experience.</li><li>Develop and maintain partnerships with external providers to offer diverse programs that enhance students’ learning experiences.</li><li>Coordinate and schedule enrichment activities, ensuring they align with the summer school’s educational goals. </li><li>Monitor the quality and effectiveness of the enrichment programs and provide feedback to partners for continuous improvement.</li><li>Facilitate the smooth operation of afternoon activities by overseeing the setup and breakdown of enrichment spaces.</li><li>Manage the allocation and usage of resources and materials required for each enrichment session.</li><li>Implement and enforce school policies regarding student behavior and discipline during enrichment activities.</li><li>Address and resolve any disciplinary issues in a timely manner, ensuring a safe and respectful environment for all students. </li><li>Serve as the primary point of contact for external enrichment partners, school staff, and parents regarding afternoon programs.</li><li>Regularly communicate with parents and guardians about the enrichment program, any changes in scheduling, and student progress or behavioral issues. </li><li>Organize and supervise the student pickup process to ensure a safe and orderly dismissal each day.</li><li>Collect data on student participation and engagement in enrichment activities.</li><li>Prepare reports on program success and areas for improvement to share with school administration and stakeholders </li></ul>Qualifications <ul><li>Bachelor's degree or higher in Education, Arts, Recreation, or a related field.</li><li>Minimum of 3 years of experience in designing and implementing enrichment programs for students.</li><li>Strong knowledge of best practices in student enrichment and engagement.</li><li>Excellent organizational and communication skills.</li><li>Creative and innovative mindset with a passion for inspiring students to explore new interests and talents. </li></ul>Experience/Education <ul><li>Three years minimum successful experience as a classroom teacher or leader with evidence of strong academic outcomes on vetted local and state assessments </li><li>Evidence of work toward administrative certification is desirable, but not required.</li><li>Ability to organize, coordinate, and communicate the summer school program.</li><li>Demonstrate ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, leading staff meetings </li></ul>Dates: July 8- August 2nd Work hours: Monday -Friday12:30 p.m.. – 5:30 p.m. <ul><li>Summer Discover School Director of Enrichment must be in attendance for the entire summer school session.</li><li> The Summer Discovery School Director must be present for the entirety of the enrichment portion, depending on each school’s working hours.</li></ul>
