- The candidate will perform dynamic structural (shock) analyses utilizing finite element analysis (FEA) methods with the pre-/post-processor (FEMAP and NASTRAN, Abaqus, Hypermesh, Government codes) computer applications, perform hand calculations using textbook methods, and develop engineering calculation reports, check structural analyses reports.
- Analyzes, researches and develops structural engineering specifications involving metals, non-metallic or composite structural materials for product design, or operation of product to include structures, mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and electronics, power plant, armament, heating and ventilating, equipment and maintenance designs.
- Specific structural engineering specialties may include dynamics and loads, stability and stress fatigue and thermal analysis.
- Extensive knowledge and experience with Finite Element Analysis software (Femap, Hypermesh, and/or Abaqus) and related first-principles methods
- Ability to execute new programs and old, i.e. FORTRAN, Matlab, python, etc.
