- The Traffic Design/Operations Unit for the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) develops project plans, specifications, and estimates for construction projects for the Denver Metro area.
- Analyze traffic data, roadway design features, and traffic signal timing plans to improve signal coordination and operation.
- Utilize traffic engineering fundamentals, Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD), Highway Capacity Manual (HCM), Highway Safety Manual (HSM), CDOT M&S Standards, CDOT Standard Specifications, and other industry accepted standards and procedures to support the planning, design and implementation of engineering projects and operation of traffic control systems.
- A current valid driver license is required for all Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) positions which require operating a state or personal motor vehicle to perform one or more essential functions of the position.
- Comprehensive knowledge and experience with the MUTCD, AASHTO Highway Safety Manual, AASHTO Roadside Design Guide, Highway Capacity Manual, A Policy on Geometric Design of Highway and Streets, CDOT Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction, and CDOT M&S Standard Plans.
