- The EMT is directly responsible to the shift supervisor.
- Maintain appropriate certifications (MA and/or RI) in order to function as an EMT legally.
- Assure all biomedical equipment is checked, operated and maintained in accordance with manufacturer's standards.
- Maintain the base living quarters (bunkroom, TV room, bathrooms, garage bay, etc.)
- Upon receiving vehicle assignment at start of shift, the EMT will do the following during the first 15-20 minutes of shift: complete equipment checklist; check fluid levels; visual inspection of lights and exterior; restock equipment and inform Shift Supervisor/Dispatcher of any deficiencies or problems; sign on the air with dispatch reporting in service and giving vehicle mileage.
