- Under direction, to assist in planning, organizing, coordinating, and maintaining emergency management operations and disaster preparedness for Santa Clara County.
- Assists all levels of government, school districts, public utilities, community-based organizations, volunteers, public service agencies, and private and non-profit sector-resource agencies in disaster response administration; conducts operational drills designed to practice concepts;
- Performs emergency management tasks requiring action from all levels of government, school districts, public utilities, community-based organizations, volunteers, public service agencies, and private and non-profit sector-resource agencies during major disasters and emergencies;
- Administers, coordinates, and presents Disaster Service Worker (DSW) training for County employees and emergency preparedness training for Emergency Operations Center (EOC) staff and the community;
- Training and Experience Note: The required knowledge and abilities are attained through training and experience equivalent to 60 semester units (90 quarter units) of college, with at least 20 semester units (30 quarter units) of coursework in Emergency/Disaster Management, Political Science, Public Administration, Business Administration, Urban Planning, Environmental Sciences, or a related field.
