- Our core portfolio of research includes projects in power & energy systems, unmanned systems (with an emphasis on maritime systems), digital engineering, and advanced manufacturing.
- Our research involves hybrid and electric propulsion systems, large energy storage devices, power converters, autonomy, digital twins, and integration with mission systems to achieve fast and reliable power system response.
- Demonstrated mastery of at least one computer modeling & simulation environment (MATLAB/Simulink preferred).
- Experience with controller hardware-in-the-loop (CHIL) in which a physical power system equipment’s controller is executing control application code in coordination with a power system plant model running in real time on a real-time simulator.
- Experience with power hardware-in-the-loop (PHIL) testing in which real power hardware is tested at full scale power and voltage levels by interfacing with the simulator through power amplifiers.
