- Georgia Crime Information Center (GCIC)/National Crime Information Center (NCIC) Certification (1), Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD) Certification (1),
- Georgia Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) Certification (3), National Incident Management System (NIMS) courses (1), and Certification on all Dispatch Consoles.
- Applicants will also be scheduled for a two (2) hour shadow session in the Operations Center observing the duties of an E911 Communication Officer.
- This classification is distinguished from E911 Communications Officer III in that this class answers emergency and non-emergency calls, monitors service providers’ activities, and dispatches calls; whereas the latter conducts on-the-job training programs for Communications Officers and serves as shift lead as required
- Answers incoming emergency and non-emergency voice/text to 9-1-1 police, fire, medical medical and Telecommunication Device for the Deaf (TDD) calls from the public: determines nature of call and correct signal and/or code; simultaneously enters information into the Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) System; assigns priority to calls; and advises supervisors of all priority calls.
