- The Director of Spiritual Care and Education is responsible for the provision of spiritual care to diverse patients, families and staff; for general oversight of the Clinical Pastoral Education program; and for effective communication and liaising with religious communities and clergy within the Boston area when appropriate.
- At BIDMC the Department of Spiritual Care resides within Patient Care Services, along with Nursing, Social Work, Interpreter Services and Volunteer Services.
- As a member of the spiritual care team, you will provide spiritual care services to patients, families and staff throughout the medical center.
- Chaplains are valued members of the multi-disciplinary team participating in family meetings, end of life and goals of care conversations, and consulting on ethical, spiritual and faith based issues that have implications for patient care.
- Supervises provision of spiritual care and related services by professional staff chaplains, clergy, lay volunteers and students.
