- UCCS began in 1998 with a group of committed educators, who, working in partnership with the University of Chicago, founded the North Kenwood/Oakland Campus, a prekindergarten to fifth grade school.
- UCCS opened its second elementary campus, Donoghue, in 2005.
- UCCS’ first middle school and high school campus was established in 2006 for students from grades six to 12 at the Woodlawn Campus.
- The UCCS Director of Compliance is responsible for ensuring compliance with all state and local school reporting, management of state and city grants, and ensuring compliance with all laws and regulations set for UChicago Charter School by city, state, and federal agencies.
- Manages process for UCCS’s reporting and submissions to relevant organizations, including the Illinois State Board of Education, Chicago Public Schools, the University of Chicago, and city, state, and federal agencies.
