- As part of the Office of Student Services (OSS), the Senior Director of Clinical Services and Nondiscrimination Initiatives supervises and evaluates all aspects of the district-wide guidance program, and serves as the district’s civil rights coordinator (directing and supervising the district’s compliance with Title II, Title VI, Title IX, 504, and McKinney-Vento).
- In collaboration with the Senior Director of Clinical Services and Social-Emotional Learning and other OSS leaders, design and implement professional learning for staff, students, and parents/guardians.
- In collaboration with the Senior Director of Clinical Services and Social-Emotional Learning and other OSS leaders, develop and implement programs that support students’ academic and social-emotional learning.
- Regularly review district and building publications to ensure that they include an annual Notice of Nondiscrimination including contact information for the district’s Civil Rights Compliance Officer, the Director of Human Resources, and the Senior Director of Educational Equity.
- Ensure parents/guardians of homeless youth and unaccompanied youth are informed of their educational rights and related opportunities available to their children and provide meaningful opportunities for parents/guardians to participate in the education of their children.
