- The Development Engineer reviews construction plans and design documentation for commercial, industrial, single or multi-family, and subdivision developments in the area of streets, sidewalks, water systems, stormwater and sanitary sewer systems and related work.
- Implements the City’s Construction Stormwater Runoff Control program including reviewing erosion and sediment control plans, stormwater pollution prevention plans, conducting field inspections of construction sites, evaluating effectiveness of erosion control best management practices (BMPs), documenting stormwater code violations, issuing notices of violation, and following up with warnings and notices to ensure code compliance.
- Serves as the City’s Certified Floodplain Manager by administering and interpreting the floodplain provisions as they relate to Public Works.
- The terminology, methods, and practices of engineering, CAD drafting, preliminary and final design, and surveying, and skill in their application to municipal public works projects;
- Use computer programs such as computer-aided drafting, mapping, and modeling software and a variety of computer applications such as word processing, spreadsheets, databases, electronic permitting software, and other miscellaneous engineering and general purpose programs;
