- The Orange County Property Appraiser’s Office tracks ownership changes; maintains maps of parcel boundaries; keeps descriptions of buildings and property characteristics up to date; accepts and approves applications from individuals eligible for exemptions and other forms of property tax relief; and analyzes trends in sales prices, construction costs, and rents to best estimate the value of all assessable property.
- The Deputy Property Appraiser is a full-time exempt position, overseeing a staff of approximately 70 and is responsible for directing and supervising the Commercial Real Estate, Residential Real Estate, and Tangible Personal Property Divisions, developing appraisal standards and practices for the Commercial Valuations, Residential Valuations, and Tangible Personal Property Valuations Divisions.
- Work closely with the Chief Deputy Property Appraiser & General Counsel and outside legal counsel in connection with administrative, circuit court, and appellate proceedings.
- Represent the agency at Value Adjustment Board hearings and circuit court proceedings, including mediations, depositions, and trial, as necessary.
