- The ColoradoSPH Department of Environmental and Occupational Health and its faculty seek to build on strengths in the following priority research areas: Climate Change and Health; Emergency Preparedness, Response and Resilience; Environmental Justice; Geospatial Methods; Exposure Science; Total Worker Health and Wellbeing, including International Safety and Health of Workers; Emerging Infectious Diseases; Environmental and Occupational Toxicology; and Environmental/Occupational Epidemiology.
- The department also has a well-established focus on Occupational Health and Safety, including two funded National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) Centers: the Mountain and Plains Education and Research Center (MAP ERC) and the Center for Health Work & Environment, a NIOSH Total Worker Health Center of Excellence, as well as a Climate, Work and Health Initiative.
- Educational degrees and programs include the MPH ( global health option) and DrPH degrees in Environmental & Occupational Health, the new PhD in Climate and Health, Occupational & Environmental Medicine Residency and Fellowship Programs, and Certificates in Total Worker Health and in Public Health Preparedness & Disaster Response.
- Now in its 15th year, the ColoradoSPH is a collaborative school involving the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus (CU Anschutz), Colorado State University (CSU), and the University of Northern Colorado (UNC).
- It is the first and only accredited school of public health in the Rocky Mountain Region, attracting top tier faculty and students from across the country, and providing vital contributions towards ensuring our region's health and wellbeing.
