Responsibilities <ul><li> Work in all areas of our stores including cashiering, stocking, general maintenance, and cleaning</li><li> Assist store management and team members in the achievement of a favorable customer shopping experience</li><li> Assist in leading teams in the planning, implementation and execution of merchandising and operating initiatives</li><li> Work with team members to identify opportunities in the store, develop timely solutions and create action plans to ensure implementation of plans</li><li> Drive sales working with store management team to maximize sales and profits while managing shrink</li><li> Assist the store management team in reducing turnover, increasing retention and maintaining consistent store operations</li><li> Assist with the management of labor and supply costs to meet customer service and financial targets</li><li> Ensure customer returns and exchanges are handled to satisfy customers while in compliance with company policies and procedures</li><li> Maintain an awareness of inventory and stocking conditions to capture ordering system integrity</li><li> Display positive attitude</li><li> Stay current with present, future, seasonal and special ads</li><li> Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines</li><li> Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and identify unsafe conditions and notify store management</li><li> Report all safety risks or issues, and illegal activity, including robbery, theft or fraud</li><li> Adhere to all local, state and federal laws, and company guidelines</li><li> Oversee the total store operations in absence of store management</li><li> Maintain flexibility to work any shift, ability to open or close store</li><li> Promote trust and respect among team members</li><li> Create an environment that enables customers to feel welcome, important and appreciated by answering questions regarding products sold throughout the store</li><li> Achieve a satisfactory level of technical and professional skills or knowledge in position and related areas</li><li> Gain and maintain knowledge of products sold; respond to questions and make suggestions about products</li><li> Physical demands include, but are not limited to, standing and walking 100% of the time, lifting an average of 50 lbs., pushing, pulling, bending, twisting/turning, manual dexterity, and repetitive motion of hands/wrists</li><li> Must be able to perform the essential job functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation </li></ul>Qualifications Minimum <ul><li> Past work record reflects dependability and integrity</li><li> Ability to pass a pre-employment background check</li><li> Knowledge of basic math</li><li> Effective communication and reading skills</li><li> Ability to handle stressful situations </li></ul>About Us Based in the Midwest, Ruler Foods merged with The Kroger Company in 1999.
