- The mission of the Collider-Accelerator Department (C-AD) is to operate, maintain, improve, and upgrade the suite of electron, proton, and heavy ion accelerators used to carry out a program of accelerator-based experiments at Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL).
- The C-AD Cryo Group operates the large Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC) central liquid helium refrigeration and distribution plant for cooling of superconducting magnetic and superconducting radio-frequency units.
- The Collider-Accelerator Department (C-AD) Cryo Group has an opening for an experienced controls and instrumentation (C&I) engineer to manage the cryogenic instrumentation and controls group engineering staff and projects through the remainder of the RHIC program and through the construction and operation of the future Electron-Ion Collider (EIC).
- Perform and manage controls and instrumentation, and electrical engineering on widely distributed process plant systems including the development, debugging and deployment of PLC hardware and software.
- Work closely with the Cryo Group Leader and Chief Engineer on overall Cryo Group planning and strategy, and on the development of project plans including schedules with needed resources and budgets
