- The Cost Accountant oversees all aspects of cost accounting for the company.
- This involves tasks such as managing monthly and annual costing rates, reviewing material cost calculations for accuracy, ensuring data integrity in SAP, coordinating with international offices, assisting with inventory counts, collaborating with General Accounting on financial entries, conducting absorption accounting, providing cost analysis, driving improvements through variance analysis, and assisting with budget processes and reconciliations.
- Interact with Production to ensure Bills of Material (BOM) are accurate and up to date; review and audit BOM to ensure they reflect the latest manufacturing practices.
- Facilitates the correction of master data errors as it relates to inventory parts.
- Leads efforts related to technology infrastructure of costing and inventory management including impacts of other functions on inventory valuation and management, non-integrated systems, and possible improvements to existing systems, including maintenance of cost accounting technology, evaluation of alternative processes, expansion of current applications, and training.
