- The ideal candidate will have proven ability to support employee communication programs and products, media relations programs, community relations, special events, and provide photography support.
- Using journalistic (AP) style, write, edit, proofread, and copyedit a variety of documents, press releases, news stories, news features, mission features, human interest features, magazines, social media content, science articles, and other journalistic-type articles.
- Research, develop, investigate, and write a variety of science-related and human-interest news and feature stories through interviews, observations, networking, and library/online resources for publication in national-level print magazines, press releases, and online content.
- Evaluate and recommend the tone and intended audience of the story, investigate, and determine the validity of story lead, and collaborate with the creative team and other technical departments.
- Manage the Armed forces Public Information system (AFPIMS) web development and updates.
