- The Commerce Supervisory Special Agent is a licensed, sworn law enforcement officer who has independent discretion in supervising and directing Special Agents, Senior Analysts and Analysts consistent with Bureau policies and procedures established by the Director of the Commerce Fraud Bureau.
- The Supervisory Special Agent is required to analyze facts and evidence to determine the proper course of action that should be followed while supervising complex, detailed and sensitive criminal investigations.
- The Supervisory Special Agent receives general supervision from the Bureau Director, they must remain flexible and utilize good judgment when utilizing and adapting guidelines such as Bureau policies, regulations, precedents and work direction for application to specific cases or problems.
- The Supervisory Special Agent is expected to plan and assign work independently after objectives, priorities and deadlines have been defined by the Bureau Director.
