- BACR provides these programs at approximately 100 schools in the Bay Area. We are looking for candidates with previous experience working with kids with a strong understanding of and passion for the integration of real-life problem solving with computer science and the engineering design process.
- Experience teaching project-based learning or engineering design challenges highly desired.
- Position Title: Coding Instructor Compensation: $30-$35 per hour DOEReports To: BACR Program CoordinatorCommitment: 6- 10 weeks per semesterWork Days/Hours: Monday – Friday 2:15 – 6:00pm / Except Wednesday 1:00 – 5:30 pm Job Duties: Facilitate and plan a coding curriculum to 4th and 5th grade students twice per week in two school sites.
- Work in conjunction with the BACR ASES Site Coordinator, BACR ASES Program Leaders to ensure that program activities are exciting and relevant to youth, as well as organized, diverse, and fun.
- Provide support and encouragement when students become frustrated/distracted as well as make sure coding curriculum is accessible to English Learner students.
