- Inspects properties and premises for compliance with city and/or county codes and ordinances relative to property maintenance standards, unlawful dumping, vacant lots, sign regulations, nuisance abatement, and related conditions.
- Conducts field inspections for both City and County in reference to various code related issues; investigates Housing Code Violations (Dilapidated structures and Fire Damage structures); investigates solid waste issues unlawful dumping of tires and automobile parts; performs research through tax office to determine property owners and rental agencies for properties with violations; and performs follow-up investigations to ensure abatement.
- Submits bid packages for demolition; represents department at pre-bid meetings, bid openings, and coordinates pre-construction meetings to provide information; and advises contractors on awarded contracts; coordinates and monitors contract work for asbestos surveys, lead surveys and abatements.
- Prepares and submits EPD notification forms on demolitions; reports any asbestos and lead identified and abated; performs post demolition inspections of lots for final grading, positive drainage and stabilization.
- Prepares required GA EPD forms and coordinates with the Fire Department for utilization of dilapidated structures scheduled for demolition in live fire training exercises.
