- Under the clinical supervision of the charge nurse at the Department of Corrections (DOC),
- the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is directly responsible for, but is not limited to, carefully and accurately obtaining vital signs and initial patient history, performing routine nursing procedures (i.e. finger stick blood studies, urinalyses, pregnancy tests, and venipuncture, when appropriate), and conducting patient intake.
- Obtains vital signs and initial patient history.
- Performs routine nursing procedures (i.e. finger stick blood studies, urinalyses, pregnancy tests, and venipuncture, when appropriate).
- Administers and demonstrates immunization techniques and general knowledge of vaccination, where applicable.
