- The incumbent will be expected to participate as a preceptor in the Core Clerkship in Surgery and the clinical elective for medical students enrolled at The Warren Alpert School of Medicine at Brown University.
- They will also be expected to participate in the teaching programs of the Department of Surgery at Rhode Island Hospital, which includes residents in General Surgery and fellows, as well as interdisciplinary teaching programs with other Divisions and Departments within the hospital and the medical school.
- The incumbent will be expected to establish, coordinate, and integrate national, regional, and institutional research protocols Rhode Island Hospital and The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University.
- The incumbent will be expected to maintain a positive working relationship in all activities of the Division of General Surgery within the Department of Surgery and The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University, and with the Lifespan Cardiovascular Institute.
- This includes attending Faculty and Staff meetings, serving on Medical School, Hospital, and Department committees, and working with faculty and the Chairman of Surgery of The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University to facilitate the achievements of the department and the division.
