- The CMO is responsible for development and implementation of clinical policies, leading the culture change from that of the autonomous physician to that of physicians as members of care teams, decreasing variation in practice leading to compliance with best practice guidelines, as well as maintaining compliance with all governmental, insurance and accreditation rules and regulations.
- Monitor, research, develop and enforce best practices in medical care, infectious disease, and public health and safety.
- Serve as a core member on the Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) Team that plans, develops, implements, and reports on ongoing improvement in all relevant metrics and best practices necessary for a Patient Centered Primary Care Home and participant in the CareOregon Primary Care Payment Model program.
- Faculty will not directly report to this individual, however the CMO is responsible, with the dean for co-supervision of all clinical medical providers, including physicians, residents, and students while administering clinical services.
- Graduate medical education experience is preferred.
