- Surgical Assistant rotate to sister facilities/departments (SOH OB/Belle Harbour ASC).
- Offering more than 500 sites of care including 12 hospitals, PACE (Elder Care), home health, hospice, medical groups, imaging services, therapy, outpatient surgery centers, and an 858,000 member health plan.
- The Certified Surgical Assistant (CSA/CSFA) works as a 1st or 2nd assistant to the surgeon and under the direction and supervision of that surgeon may perform specific significant surgical tasks.
- Anticipating the needs of the surgical team, the Certified Surgical Assistant assists the surgeon with tasks such as selecting equipment, set up of various tables and positioning equipment, providing retraction for visualization of surgical site, cauterization of bleeding vessels, suturing and closure of incision, instillation of medications, application of surgical dressings, splints, and casts.
- Graduate of CAAHEP (Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs) accredited Surgical Assistant Program required.
