- GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES : United Digestives Certified Anesthesiologist Assistant (CAA) practices in collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team to deliver high-quality, holistic, evidence-based anesthesia services.
- The CAAs main responsibilities are assisting in evaluating patients prior to their endoscopy procedure, administering anesthesia including monitoring patients during and post procedure under the medical direction and supervision of a qualified anesthesiologist.
- RESPONSIBILITIES*: Clinical responsibility of the CAA is delineated by his or her clinical privileges and must be performed under the medical direction and supervision of a qualified anesthesiologist.
- CAA functions include, but are not limited to the following: Perform pre-screening evaluation (pre-calls) prior to day of procedure by telephone and chart review.
- Perform preliminary pre-anesthesia evaluation and physical exam for review by the anesthesiologist.
