- Performs Cardiac Ultrasounds in conjunction with cardiac testing for the geriatric, adult, pediatric, infant, and neonate populations (within level of competency and training) to acquire and analyze data obtained using cardiac ultrasound modalities and related diagnostic technologies.
- Practices in a manner consistent with the Elliot Hospital Inter-Professional Practice model; the Inter-society Accreditation Commission for Echocardiography (ICAEL), The American Society of Echocardiography (ASE) and the American College of Cardiology (ACC) under the general direction of the Cardiovascular Services Medical Director and the direct supervision of the Cardiovascular Services Clinical Nurse Manager.
- Assists the cardiologist within scope of practice, training and competency, transesophageal echocardiograms for the adult & geriatric patient.
- Assists the cardiologist or Cardiovascular Services APRN with noninvasive pharmacological or exercise stress testing.
- Completion of a formal program in ultrasound or an allied health profession preferred; ability to perform pediatric echocardiograms requires completion in a formal pediatric echocardiography program
