- The Burn Treatment Center consists of twelve intensive care beds, including two higher level-isolation rooms (negative pressure rooms), fifteen comprehensive care beds, two dressing rooms, and 2 hydrotherapy rooms as well as a rehabilitation gym and recreational therapy area.
- Manage, in coordination with the Burn Treatment Center research nurse, prospective, retrospective, and completed research studies Interdepartmental clinical services are available 24 hours a day for patient care and/or consultation on seriously burn-injured patients with multi-care needs such cardiovascular, renal, neurological, complex medicine, pulmonary and pediatrics; consultations from physicians are sought on a formal basis as the need arises.
- Manage, in coordination with the Burn Treatment Center research nurse, prospective, retrospective, and completed research studies
- Because of the nature of burn injury and the complications that occur, physicians from the Division of Infectious Disease, the Division of Pulmonary Disease, the Department of Pediatrics, and the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation are invited to make rounds frequently in the Burn Treatment Center and to suggest changes in medical care.
- Integration of specific departmental services, namely Medicine, Psychiatry, Nursing, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Recreation Therapy, Respiratory Therapy, Nutritional Services, Pharmacy, Case Management, and Social Service provide comprehensive care to the burn patient.
