- Under indirect supervision, operates dual energy x-ray absorptiometry (DXA) and/or other densitometry equipment in order to perform scans of the lumbar spine, proximal femur, and/or forearm that measure the calcium content of bones and are utilized by physicians to screen for, diagnose, manage, and treat osteoporosis and other metabolic diseases.
- Exercises technical judgment in order to obtain a computerized image of the tested area, bone density measurements, and a computer-generated comparison of the patient's measurements with normal age-specific measurements.
- Essential Functions: - Upholds Kaiser Permanente's Policies and Procedures, Principles of Responsibilities and applicable state, federal and local laws.
- Observes all organizational, regional, medical service area and Diagnostic Imaging Department policies and procedures.
- Meets productivity norms established by the department.
